My Muxtape (All Chick Power Hour: Songs by Birds But Not Birdsongs)
If you really want to hear about it, the first thing you'll probably want to know is where I was born, and what my lousy childhood was like, and how my parents were occupied and all before they had me, and all that David Copperfield kind of crap, but I don't feel like going into it, if you want to know the truth.

Fun songwriter. Writes fearlessly like Vic Chestnutt, sings like Jamie Lidell, touch disco, touch psychedelic, all with an updated, indie twist. He's opening for Rilo Kiley on tour this season. Sweet.

Priscilla Ahn performed at New York City's lower east side acoustic venue The Living Room on Tuesday night. The Pennysylvania native, and current Los Angelena, will release her first full-length record, A Good Day on Blue Note, June 10.
TheAlice and your humble narrator (I) went to hear her. Results? We're impressed with her vocal ability, cuteness and sincerity as a performer and songwriter.
The Live Daily blog is now offering a ten minute, live studio recording of some PA songs as a free MP3 download if you want to get a better sense for yourself.
It's good acoustic stuff. This woman's voice is going to put to shame a lot of less soulful, and less controlled indie songstress types. She's right up there with Vashti Bunyan, Regina Spektor, Yael Naim, Sarah MacLachlan, and The Cranberries. Hits all the high notes gracefully, powerful at times, but never heavy.

new, lo-fi experimental video from new media artist Coldbacon. great song by The Raveonettes when they were more live, less produced. video is crunched by youtube, but neat. consists of cool animations and images both home grown, and internet harvested, set dancing to aforementioned great song.
