a really fun, urban-inspired installation at Deitch this summer...nice blend of cartoon like figures, blurred colors and backgrounds in the paintings, then some informally stolid sculptures and installations that involve music, funhouse mirror-esque surfaces, wafer board wood, and bubbles moving through the air. basically? it made me smile and even laugh out loud. that's good crack. it is even good art. imagine! recommended if you like: tom sachs, banksy (in concept at least), phillip guston, and / or brian calvin.

ross bleckner "falling birds" at mary boone. in digital form, here, shrunk into pixels and light, this looks very photographic to me. and somewhat astral. in person, it was (to me) far more earthy and almost mineral somehow? people. stumbleupon is great, but it is not enough to look at art here. go see your local museums and galleries. then come to NYC and see ours. then Europe-ish. or whatever. please.

paintings / mixed media on aluminum. also? sometimes these sort of shapes and colors go off in my head if i'm drifting to sleep in a brightly lit room. is it weird that he was able to get my brain instances down on a two dimensional art object? i think yes. i'd like to talk to this grant miller fellow.

Really unexpectedly cool material from a math course at Dartmouth. Lots of great images of concepts from reason to relativity rendered by painters and artisans of the day in which the philosophies / theories were hatched. Check it!
