Phoenix sends me a stupid "free track" alert via facebook. then i go to their band page, and then am redirected to their Cartier-promotion page. i cough up some requisite info and...the download? did not work. wtf? yes i have the plugins. if this is the direction of sponsored media today? fuggit. i'll just BUY the stupid record.
OK, I had NO idea of the history behind this song. Now I do. Wow. Makes me love Blondie even more for bringing this stuff into the spotlight when new wave was reigning oer the clubs and charts. Yep.
The website of the band Broadcast (warp records). They blend some of the finer qualities of everyone from Nancy Sinatra to Portishead to My Bloody Valentine and Camera Obscura. For starters I recommend the songs: "Where Youth & Laughter Go" and "Before We Begin."
